...began with the goal of creating a fun and healthy kick-off to the annual Fremont River
Day celebration held the second weekend of July in downtown Fremont.  

Our inaugural event was held at 8 a.m. July 8th, 2006.  With hopes of having 100
registered participants the first year, race directors Kirsten Slocum and Leslie
Hildebrandt were absolutely thrilled to end up with a total of 143 registrants, and 131 of
those completing the course that morning.  

So each year we strive to improve the event and this year we hope you can join us in
downtown Fremont!
